RISING FAMILY

RISING FAMILY

        Comedy Series

A European immigrant family is moving to North America for a better life and to achieve their goals, the characters employ clever methods but comedic situations inadvertently take place.

The story follows a family of four—a middle-aged couple and their two teenage sons, aged 19 and 17. It begins with their first-ever airplane trip as they arrive in a new country.

The family is Albanian, uniquely characterized by their distinctive nodding habits—nodding in the opposite direction when affirming or denying something. The main character, Louie, has a unique trait: he stutters when experiencing strong emotions, lying, or interacting with women, leading to comical misunderstandings. Occasionally, his children inherit this trait, adding a fresh twist to the comedy.

As an immigrant family, they attempt to resolve situations based on their previous mentality, which contrasts with the North American mindset, leading to humorous scenarios wherever they go. The main characters change their names to more pronounceable ones, navigate new friendships, find jobs, develop love interests, and rise in their new environment.

Given that North America is made up of immigrants, this comedy also features North American characters who see themselves reflected in the immigrant experience. The humor lies in how both sides react when trying to understand each other and resolve situations.
